We had a great weekend on the water with Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, and hundreds of Common Dolphins! This weekend there was also a BLUE whale sighting near Newport Beach by @newportcoastaladventure !! It is just the beginning of our Blue Whale season and we hope to see more of the world’s largest animal! *Enjoy this underwater moment of some bow riding dolphins filmed aboard our Ultimate Adventure. Don’t forget to bring your own gopro aboard our zodiac-style boat for the chance to film some amazing footage!

This playful humpback whale delighted passengers on the Legacy this morning, breaching multiple times only 100ft from the boat! Thanks to @seataceans for the photo! If you look closely, he’s even got some kelp on his face! We’ve seen this happy whale several times in the last week in Newport Beach.Now is a great time to come whale watching, as we’ve had fantastic sightings and great weather. Who is ready for the weekend? The sun came out today and the dolphins celebrated! Sightings today included both short and long beaked common dolphins, Risso’s dolphins and multiple friendly minke whales! We hope to see you out on the water tomorrow! Minke whales may be the smallest of the “great whales” (fin, blue, etc), but what they lack in size they make up for with personality! Passengers aboard the Newport Legacy got a special surprise at sunset today when a minke whale breached over and over! Photographer @seataceans was quick to get the shot! We still have humpbacks and minke whales in our area and have been enjoying more incredible encounters! Come enjoy an afternoon on the water. We are still running with limited capacities on all of our boats, allowing more space for you to view wildlife in comfort!

Calling all dolphin lovers! There have been hundreds of common dolphins in our waters feasting on abundant fish! Whales in our area benefit from the dolphins’ coordinated efforts to school fish together. Both minke whales and a humpback whale were seen with the dolphins today! @goodnewsangie aboard the Ocean Explorer.

Minke Whales are quick and sleek travelers! They have been seen recently in our waters hunting schools of anchovy! Keep a sharp eye out because these whales are fast and efficient swimmers!
