Just minutes after being born a baby dolphin is able to swim on its own. This afternoon the Newport Legacy was treated to a nursery pod that included some tiny baby short-beaked common dolphins! Our photographer, Delaney @seataceans captured this portrait of one of the little babies.*Looking to the week ahead the weather looks exceptionally nice with calm seas and sunny skies. We offer trips throughout the day including trips near sunset. We expect to see more of our summer feeding activity including dolphins, humpback whales, minke whales, and more! Hello humpback whales! We enjoyed watching multiple humpback whales and hundreds of dolphins today! Our photographer @seataceans captured this special moment when a humpback whale decided to roll in some kelp! Humpback whales are very expressive whales with big personalities! They are curious by nature and love to check out floating kelp paddies. In addition to humpback whales and minke whales, we have been seeing dolphin super pods of over 500 dolphins per group! If you are a dolphin lover now is the time to join us on the ocean! June 13, 2020 Read More

What a catch! This weekend we saw hundreds of small white birds called Terns! What’s so great about these birds? Well, they are like a big neon sign on the ocean saying “The fish are over here!” Often when we are looking for dolphins and whales we can see bird on the horizon first. Birds are an indication of food, especially whale and dolphin food! Sure enough under these birds were hundreds of dolphins! Thank you, Terns for showing us the way!
